About the role
Looking for a go-getting Business Intelligence Senior Analyst to join our team! You will form part of a dynamic team who is obsessed with data and analyzing it using various big data technologies and platforms. Combined with the most appropriate visualizations, you will be converting data into valuable and actionable insights to guide business tactics, strategic approach, and next best actions, but to do that with a customer-centric mindset on how we partner with our stakeholders to optimize our mutual engagement with each other.
- Engage with different business units and ensure they are empowered by having an end-to-end understanding of their respective areas through their data insights, data extracts, and dashboards aligned to their requirements
- Work with unstructured and structured data. Pull your own data, structure it, clean it, and understand the human and financial behaviors it represents.
- Deliver ad hoc consumer insight projects that inform decision-making for your stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the internal teams to drive continuous improvement in processes, services, self-service, and further discovery.
- Interpret and analyze data from multiple sources, providing key analytics and visualizations and/or reports.
- Proactively provide actionable recommendations based on analysis results across various stakeholders and teams.
- Effectively use business data from multiple sources to craft a story and guide activities and decisions.
- Work closely with the data engineering team to ensure that those reports and extracts which require intraday or regular and frequent updates are scheduled to run as expected.
Must haves
- Bachelor’s degree or higher and/or equivalent qualification in either mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, data science or engineering
- 3-5 years of relevant business intelligence experience in a data-driven and analytics environment.
- Data visualization experience using tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or something similar.
- First-hand experience in working with big data and querying databases, both NoSQL and SQL, like Postgres, MySQL, MS SQL, HBase, MongoDB, etc
- Practical experience in working with data mining/predictive modeling tools such as SQL, R, SAS, Python, etc.
- Previous experience working with operational teams will be a benefit as it helps in understanding the pace of work and expected delivery for various queries and investigations.
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to understand your stakeholders.
- Previous experience in banking or finance is a plus but not required.

- Ensuring code is versioned by making use of code versioning tools like git
- Summarising key takeaways from analysis and plan for the next steps
- Educate stakeholders on complex concepts and teach them how they can utilize the reports, dashboards, or raw extracts most appropriately
