The Category Manager for W Department Store is responsible in managing and developing assigned category to ensure that over all company set objectives are achieved. S/he is responsible to generate and deliver committed sales target, margin target, maintain inventory levels, planogram management and maintain good working relationship with co-employees and respective vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible in managing and developing assigned category
  • Ensuring category sales targets, margins, and other income are achieved
  • Ensuring all Ps (Product, Place, Price, Promo, People, Process) are in place
  • Identifying possible opportunities and implementing programs to develop the category
  • and improve business performance
  • Conduct market research initiatives and reviews competitors pricing & margins
  • Manage to do store check & visit, and product inventory.
  • Building win-win partnerships with suppliers/vendors

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a business-related course or equivalent
  • With 3 - 5 years experience as Category Manager from any Retail/FMCG business
  • Should have unquestionable integrity
  • Great negotiation, interpersonal, communications and presentation skills
  • Proficient at evaluating current business retail practice
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing and sales operations and processes
  • Ability to think from a customer perspective and understand buying behavior
