About The Role


As a CBRE People Associate, will be responsible for responding to, directing, solving, and answering advanced questions related to HR. This job is part of the People Strategy and Operations function. They are responsible primarily for conducting and monitoring compliance of background screening and Drug & Alcohol testing in US and Canada.

This is a new role, which will play a key role in setting up a Global Screening Champions programme & ensuring we are compliant with the client’s contract regarding background screening globally. This will be a huge achievement once completed & will be recognised by the Senior Leadership Team. The role consists of 2 elements:

  • US & Canada background screening & Drug & Alcohol testing.
  • Global background screening Compliance

This is a hybrid role, based at home & in the CBRE office. The schedule will be as follows:

Mon-Fri – 9pm – 6am (7 hour overlap with CST)

Night shift differential applies from 10:00PM-06.00AM local time

What You’ll Do


Background Screening & Drugs & Alcohol Testing:


US & Canada


  • New hire screening
  • Re-screening in accordance with the MSA (Master Service Agreement)
  • Random drug pool tests

Global

  • Ensure we are compliant globally for background screening & drug & alcohol testing.
  • Run the Screening Champions Network & meet regularly with Regional Screening Champions
  • Conduct internal background screening audits
  • Prepare for client background screening audits

Generalist People Support


  • Provide excellent customer service to employees who contact the HR People Team.
  • Provide support for payroll and timesheet inquiries, data changes from Human Resource forms and cases, and general HR services.
  • Research, review and resolve issues using PeopleSoft and the company intranet.
  • Providing support to the Senior People Business Partner on UK & global matters
  • Supporting on cyclical initiatives, such as Performance Management, Compensation Planning & the Employee Engagement Survey, ILM nominations, Annual Essential Learning
  • Establish relationships within the company to work cross-functionally with other teams. Gather information for inquiries that need more research and provide to Sr. team members
  • Provide input for ideas and implement them to improve workflow processes.
  • Gather and analyze data to identify and solve complex problems that arise with little or no precedent. May recommend new techniques.
  • Suggest improvements to existing processes and solutions to improve the efficiency of the team.

What You’ll Need


  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Human Resource Management, or any equivalent Course with 3-5 years of experience as HR Generalist
  • A comprehensive understanding of a range of processes, procedures, systems, and concepts within own job function is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Advanced organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate advanced figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
