Role Overview:

The Manufacturing Head is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing equipment and facilities across all plants operate at optimum levels. The role includes analyzing workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data, recommending methods to reduce material and utility waste, and overseeing both the development of manufacturing processes and daily maintenance activities. This position also leads continuous improvement initiatives, offering solutions to manufacturing challenges and developing comprehensive strategies to enhance safety, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.

Additionally, the Manufacturing Head provides guidance to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) specializing in key areas such as blowing, filling, automation, shrink packing, and palletizing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Implementation of Maintenance Programs
    • Facilitate the implementation of improvement tools and management evaluations to boost production area performance.
    • Monitor plant efficiencies, detect deviations, and initiate corrective actions.
    • Prepare annual maintenance budgets for the plants.
  • Strategic Direction for Manufacturing Services
    • Oversee the design, coordination, budgeting, and evaluation of manufacturing services strategies, including replacements and overhauls.
    • Develop and monitor CAPEX investment plans for equipment acquisition, bottleneck elimination, and adjustments for new products, processes, and services.
    • Balance essential services (water supply, electricity, steam generation, refrigeration, air and water treatment) against possible plant saturation.
    • Formulate asset management policies and plans to ensure equipment reliability, including modifications and replacements of obsolete equipment.
    • Support equipment upgrades and engineering project implementations.
  • Spare Parts and Inventory Management
    • Oversee the availability and inventory management of spare parts.
  • Energy and Utilities Efficiency
    • Lead strategies to improve water, electrical, and thermal efficiency.
    • Support investment projects that enhance energy efficiency.
  • Budget Management
    • Manage the national repairs and maintenance budget, including spare parts.
    • Communicate budget plans to key stakeholders (Manufacturing and Finance teams).
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead a team of SMEs providing national support in key manufacturing areas such as blowing, filling, packing, palletizing, automation, and others.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management
    • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Maintenance / Manufacturing Operations within the FMCG industry.
  • Graduate of a BS Engineering course (preferred).
  • Licensed Engineer (preferred).
  • Certified Project Manager (preferred).
