Job Overview
- As a Pega Chapter Lead, you will be at the forefront of leading and guiding multiple squads of Pega developers to deliver high-quality, scalable Pega solutions across the organization. Your role involves overseeing the technical development and strategic direction of Pega projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and best practices. You will mentor and develop your chapter members, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. As a Pega Chapter Lead, you will also be responsible for setting standards, promoting innovation, and ensuring the professional growth of your chapter members.
- You will be a member of the Pega Manila Center of Excellence (CoE), which caters to various business domains such as Wholesale Banking, Retail, and many more. The Pega CoE provides high-quality, scalable Pega solutions that drive efficiency and innovation across these diverse business areas.
- In this role, you will work in a squad alongside your Product Owner (PO) and Junior Developers, contributing to strategic decision-making processes, and mentoring junior developers. You will collaborate closely with Customer Journey Experts (CJE), and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure that the applications meet business needs. Your direct line of reporting will be to your IT Area Lead, who will guide your leadership development and ensure alignment with overall goals and standards within the Pega CoE.
- Advanced Application Development: Lead the design and development of complex Pega applications, ensuring robust workflows, user interfaces, and business logic.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Pega developers, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Strategic Direction: Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for Pega projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Project Oversight: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of Pega applications, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
- Standards and Best Practices: Establish and promote development standards, best practices, and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across Pega projects.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Journey Experts (CJEs), Architects, product owners, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure the successful implementation of Pega solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Pega development within the organization.
- Technical Expertise: Stay current with the latest Pega advancements and industry trends, ensuring the team is up-to-date with new features and technologies.
- Extensive experience in Pega development, with a strong understanding of Pega architecture, rules, classes, and data structures.
- Expert-level proficiency in Pega and related technologies
- Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale Pega projects.
- In-depth knowledge of Pega architecture, performance optimization, and scalability.
- Ability to provide thought leadership in Pega best practices and emerging technologies.
- Strong mentoring and coaching abilities, fostering the development of Engineers under his Chapter.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experienced in Agile / Scrum / DevOps projects.
- Have great analytical skills and have a conceptual / architectural understanding.
- Experienced working in a complex, regulated environment such as a large financial institution
- 8+ years of extensive and hands-on experience in Pega development
- Pega Certification: Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) / Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA) – preferred but not mandatory
- Fluent in English speaking and writing and a good communicator in general.
- Able to bring all ideas/opinions to one conclusion to help make decisions.
- Up to date with new Technology and have a deep understanding of when to use it.
