Description

The key role of the Insight Manager is to manage quantitative, qualitative and community research projects, with the supervision of senior researchers.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management


  • You are the project owner for several smaller tactical projects which are taking place simultaneously, with little direction from seniors.
  • You play a supporting role on larger strategic projects.
  • Your cross department relationships are an example to junior consultants.


Activity Design


  • You lead on deciding the best approach and ideas for capturing the data needed
  • You can design most types of Activities with only light direction from seniors.


Fieldwork


  • You are a confident moderator.
  • You are capable of going beyond taking what people say at face value, laddering to understand the unspoken and emotion, that sit deeper.
  • Able to evaluate the status of survey fieldwork and make decisions facilitating fieldwork progress (e.g. regarding modification of quotas).


Analysis and Reporting


  • You are able to analyze any Activity data.
  • You take the lead in designing an analysis plan, which you use to brief others (e.g. PST, external moderator, etc.). For more complex projects, you can do this with only light direction from seniors.
  • You create reports that are commercially savvy, which include your growing experience with the client / category / sector.
  • Your outputs are client ready (including conclusions and recommendations) before getting final input from seniors.
  • You ensure that relevant insights from other sources (e.g. Culture and Trends, client data) are brought in at key points in the process to add value.


Solution Design


  • You can interpret a client's information needs, and are able to translate them into overall project design and deciding on the right Activities and Solutions to use. For complex projects, you do this with the support from seniors.
  • You are able to spot opportunities to incorporate solutions beyond primary research (e.g. Culture+Trends, crowdsourcing through eÿeka, etc.).


Presenting


  • You regularly give presentations to clients, with support from seniors.
  • You are involved in the preparation of client workshops / brainstorms and attend in a supportive role.


Account Management


  • You are an independent client handler.
  • You can build good working relationships with clients, and have learnt to flex your style as needed.
  • You are attentive to their needs, whilst balancing the commercial needs of the business and maintaining good relationships with those you work with internally.
  • You are involved in the presenting of NTMY meetings with clients.
  • You are building your client network outside of the insight team.


Growth Marketing


  • You are becoming a master of your client’s sector (e.g. what their key business topics and KPIs are).
  • You share internal content with your own network (in a targeted and personalized way) and support the account with this too.
  • You also start creating your own content too (e.g. blogposts, client case studies etc.).


Commercial Management


  • You are becoming aware of your commercial skillset and how you can compliment other assets in the team.
  • You are getting experience with the customer relationship platforms needed to manage your accounts (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365).
  • You understand our unique selling arguments of the tools / methods / solutions we offer and how we position vs. competitors.
  • You commit to the principle of a client facing target, beyond project interactions.
  • Your business financial acumen continues to grow and you take ownership of your contribution to the financials on a project.
  • Involved in the brainstorming for and (co-)writing of proposals for simple projects.
  • You actively participate in smaller / simple sales pitches.
  • You are proactively looking to support the (Sr) Business Director, to gain experience in reaching out to new clients.


Coaching


  • You support the development of junior consultants through on-the-job coaching.
  • You share your experiences and best practice tips (e.g. how they can manage their time / projects).
  • You follow up on experiences and training to drive higher performance.


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise


  • Education level.


A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (e.g., social science, psychology, business, or economics).


  • Experience.


At least 5 years of professional research experience.


  • Proven Track.


Demonstrated success through the impactful research.

Other skills and attributes:


  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyse data, identify patterns, and draw conclusions.
  • Excellent Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills, and in English.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to connect research insights to broader organizational goals.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility in handling changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with tools such as data analysis software.
