Job Summary

TheMedical Receptionist - Referral Coordinatoris responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing physician referrals, ensuring proper documentation, and facilitating seamless communication between our clinic and referring providers. The ideal candidate has experience in a medical setting, strong attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills to cultivate and maintain professional relationships with referring physicians and healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Referral Management:Process and track incoming and outgoing referrals to and from physicians, ensuring timely scheduling and completion.
  • Physician Correspondence:Send reports, test results, and updates to referring physicians in a timely and professional manner.
  • Relationship Building:Develop and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians, specialists, and healthcare partners to ensure ongoing collaboration and patient care continuity.
  • Patient Coordination:Assist patients in scheduling follow-up appointments and provide necessary referral-related information.
  • Data Entry & Documentation:Maintain accurate referral records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
  • Front Desk Duties:Greet patients, answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and provide administrative support to the office team.
  • Problem-Solving:Address any issues related to referrals, patient scheduling, or physician communications efficiently and professionally.

RequirementsQualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience in a medical office setting, preferably in a referral coordination or front desk role.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and referral procedures.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
  • Fast typing speed greater than 60 WPM
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical receptionist, referral coordinator, or similar healthcare administrative role.
