ROLE SUMMARY
Our real estate investment and development firm client is looking for a Senior Accountant who will utilize professional knowledge of accounting principles and systems in carrying out assignments related to the proper accounting of real estate portfolio transactions. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for ensuring monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines are met. The ideal candidate will have real estate accounting experience in GAAP, financial reporting, construction, and related loan compliance experience for office, retail, multifamily, self-storage, hotel, and development assets.
WORK SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (1:00 AM – 10:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays
POSITION TYPE: Full Time
WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Handle month-end close process ensuring timely close
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries and ensure accuracy
- Prepare monthly construction draws for development and submission to partners and lenders for payment
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements
- Prepare CAM reconciliations in connection with tenant move-in/out, annual budgets, and annual reconciliations
- Support the budgeting process for properties and corporate entities
- Handle accounting functions related to the corporate and trust entities
- Work with CPA firms to provide the needed data related to audits, tax, reviews, agreed-upon procedures, etc.
- Prepare fixed assets capitalization schedule
- Prepare quarterly loan compliance and respond to lender inquiries
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly board report
- Prepare variance analysis
- Review construction in progress and monitor the completion of the construction projects
- Prepare gross potential report monthly for multifamily
- Prepare partner monthly, quarterly, or annual financial reporting
- Review third party reporting and synchronize it to our accounting system
- Handle ad-hoc assignments as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3-5 years’ experience in the real estate industry
- Experience being part of the budgeting team
- Strong understanding/experience of the CAM reconciliation process
- Working knowledge of property management/accounting software (preferably Yardi and Sage), Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both oral and written with owners, tenants, and coworkers
- Ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships, professional phone manner
- Mature and self-motivated team player with good conflict-resolution skills
- Committed to personal growth and integrity aligned with objectives
