J.P. Morgan manages in excess of $350Bn of collateral balances and processes 20M transactions each year. More than 200 collateral clients globally, with 6,400 CSAs for over 100 third-party buy side clients.

Primary product support falls into 3 categories: Derivatives Collateral Management (DCM), Securities Collateral Management (SCM) & Margin Control.

Primary Functions Span Three Global Teams

  • Core Operations own day to day processes
  • Middle Office have ownership of overall operational client satisfaction
  • Client Implementations own the onboarding of new and incremental client/business to the CSO platform

Collateral Services Operations support internal & external clients (predominantly Banks & Broker Dealers) in managing their margin obligations/exposures.

As a Trading Services Associate (Manager) within the Collateral Services Operations team, you will manage margin obligations and exposures for both our internal and external clients. You will be a part of a global team that oversees more than $350Bn of collateral balances and processes over 20M transactions annually. Your responsibilities will include issuing and consuming margin statements, calculating margins, verifying asset eligibility, and providing daily reports on margin and collateral activity. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to multitask, and excellent communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Issue and consume margin statements or RQVs, depending on underlying trade
  • Calculate margin and manage margin call agreement process
  • Verify asset eligibility and agree collateral movements against margin obligations
  • Instruct and monitor collateral settlements. Respond to queries coming from clients and their counterparties around (but not limited to) margin management and collateral settlement
  • Track and value collateral positions daily
  • Provide daily reporting on margin and collateral activity
  • Provide dispute notification and portfolio reconciliations, leveraging TriOptima’s TriResolve service, which can assist in identifying the cause of disputes and facilitate their resolution

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Fluency in Mandarin, with the ability to understand, speak, read, and write
  • Good knowledge of global financial markets
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with strategic internal & external partners
  • Ability to multi-task and work under rigorous intra-day deadlines
  • Able to demonstrate resourcefulness, flexibility and ability to work independently
  • Excellent problem solving skills; ability to think outside the box and is able to look for creative solutions around traditional obstacles
  • Ability to display sound judgment and decision making
  • Able to demonstrate initiative while also exhibiting ownership and accountability.
  • A culture carrier and team-player, able to build relationships and work in a collaborative environment; an agent and advocate of change
  • Proficiency in MS Office Applications

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Exposure to collateral management, cash and securities processing is an advantage.
  • Experience in Securities Lending, Settlements, Trade Support/Middle Office, or COACs role.
