Job Description: We are seeking a Technical Lead to spearhead our Digital ID Data Integration & Data Warehouse Project. In this role, you will report directly to the project sponsor while leading a team of software developers and data engineers. You'll work standard Australian business hours with flexibility required for stakeholder workshops, planning sessions, and critical deployments. As the primary technical point of contact, you'll be responsible for driving architectural decisions and ensuring successful implementation across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
Lead architectural design sessions and technical planning
Mentor and guide the development team
Facilitate micro-workshops with key stakeholders
Ensure technical solutions align with business objectives
Balance immediate needs with long-term scalability
Champion data governance and security best practices
Make significant architectural and technical decisions
Establish development standards and methodologies
Prioritize technical work and manage technical risks
Contribute to project planning across all phases
Determine integration strategies for all systems
Lead the transition from manual processes to automated data integration
Implement a hybrid approach using Azure Functions and Data Factory
Develop a scalable digital identity framework
Create a central data warehouse with appropriate governance
Build an extensible API layer for system integration
Qualifications
8+ years of technical experience in software development or data engineering
3+ years in technical leadership positions
Strong background in Microsoft Azure cloud services
Experience with large-scale data integration projects
Understanding of both development and data engineering principles
Proven track record delivering complex multi-phase projects
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure ecosystem
Experience with data integration and ETL technologies
API design and implementation expertise
Database architecture knowledge (SQL Server/Azure SQL)
Proficiency with software development lifecycle tools and processes
Documentation and architecture modeling capabilities
Exceptional stakeholder management abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Team leadership and mentoring capabilities
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to translate business requirements into technical architecture
