Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of mechanical components and systems using 2D and 3D CAD tools. This role involves taking projects from concept to production, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 2D and 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or Autodesk Inventor)
  • Perform engineering analysis such as tolerance studies, FEA, and material selection to ensure design feasibility and functionality
  • Create and maintain detailed drawings, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and engineering documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, procurement, quality, and project management to support product development and production
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to resolve engineering challenges
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and customer specifications
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities to refine and improve designs
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives in design and manufacturing processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical design and product development
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD modelling (preferably SolidWorks)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, sheet metal, plastic injection molding)
  • Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and relevant drafting standards (ASME Y14.5)
  • Knowledge of scaffolding, guard railing, and pipe/tube calculations for structural safety standards is a plus
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
