Job Summary

  • The role provides comprehensive support for training programs across multiple operational areas including marine, hotel, and shipboard environments, as well as CASI. It involves developing training materials, curriculums, and logistics aligned with company guidelines, and ensuring professional development and compliance. The position also cultivates relationships with academia to influence curriculum design and manage early talent programs, including apprenticeships and internships. Additionally, it supports cross-functional projects by coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders, managing vendor relations, and continuously assessing training effectiveness to meet business needs.

Essential Functions

  • Operational (Marine and Hotel) Training Support: Provides support for effective training design and delivery of hotel and marine training. This includes but is not limited to professional development, management, compliance programs. Develops presentations, charts, curriculums, project and/or learning plans, instructor and participant materials, logistics, and post-training assessment aligned with company guidelines and principles. Coordinates with L&D management in consolidating plans and programs to support the objectives of the department
  • Academic Relations and Early Talent Programs Cultivates and maintains relations with partner academic leadership and faculty. Liaises with academia to influence curriculum design, develops and operationalizes need-based training courses with academic institutions as directed. Organizes visits to academic institutions for self / for visiting CCL leadership. Facilitates presentations to students and faculty as needed. Organizes learning events at schools in partnership with Talent Acquisition and COE. Manages ‘Early Talent’ programs with academic partners. Liaises with stakeholders to operationalize Carnival Early Talent programs with partner schools, including apprentice programs and internship programs.
  • CASI Training Support Collaborates with CASI HRM and management to organize training that meets business needs, including skill training and management training. Evaluates training effectiveness, makes recommendations, and applies feedback to ensure maximum impact to the business. Delivers orientation training to CASI new hires. Manages local vendor relations; Participates in identifying, selecting and evaluating vendors to deliver trainings solutions as needed. Uses the company LMS to manage local training, communicates with participants, tracks and reports compliance, as needed. Acts as the training contact to answer questions and resolve training issues for the local CASI team.
  • Shipboard L&D Operations Support Partners with Fleet Managers and COE to provide ground support for shipboard L&D operations, as needed, including fleet (L&D) personnel operations, e.g onboarding new team members. Reviews knowledge systems and makes periodic updates to training guidelines. Assists with continued development of L&D personnel. Plans ship visits to review training processes and makes recommendations for improvement. Supports any other shipboard L&D need as directed
  • Cross Functional Projects and Support Partners with CATO and COE to solution and support cross functional projects. Partners with stakeholders as needed to articulate project outcomes and scope and communicates project deliverables. Sets up periodic status meetings, participates with the BA in requirement gathering, reviews and testing, where necessary. Collaborates with COE on information and status updates; Makes presentations to stakeholders as needed; Ensures project is on plan, communicates and mitigates roadblocks appropriately and in a timely manner. Provide any other project support, as directed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum educational background of Bachelor's degree in Training & Development, Business Administration, Human Resources Development, Social Sciences or related field is required.
  • Around 3–5 years of professional experience in learning and development or training operations.
  • Experience should include designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs—ideally within operational environments such as marine, hotel, or shipboard settings—as well as working with academic institutions and early talent initiatives.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development, vendor management, LMS administration, and cross-functional project coordination is also essential.
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS): Ability to navigate, administer, and leverage LMS for tracking, reporting, and delivering training content.
  • Curriculum and Presentation Tools: Proficiency in creating training materials using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and other e-learning authoring tools.
  • Project Management and Collaboration Software: Familiarity with Project tools to support cross-functional projects and maintain schedules.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Skills to evaluate training effectiveness, track compliance, and generate meaningful reports.
  • Communication and Knowledge Platforms: Effective use of MS Teams, SharePoint online to coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and academic partners and manage knowledge systems.

  • The ideal candidate for this role will have several years of hands-on experience in learning and development and training program delivery, ideally within operational settings such as marine, hotel, or shipboard environments. They should have a proven track record in designing and executing training programs, managing vendor relationships, and leveraging Learning Management Systems for effective training administration. Experience working with academic institutions and early talent programs, as well as coordinating cross-functional projects, is highly desirable. Practical exposure to operational training environments combined with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across multiple business units will be key to success in this role.
