POSITION SUMMARY

Handles tasks related to the submission of documents to the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) and other government agencies, including the Copyright Office, Food and Drug Administration, and various embassies. Conducts verification processes with the IPO to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and intellectual property laws. Assess product availability by conducting research through online platforms and local markets. Additionally, assist in identifying counterfeit products and coordinate appropriate measures for their destruction in compliance with legal standards and industry regulations.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  • Follows-up status of the trademark / patent applications and/or registrations or opposition/cancellation cases, license agreement with:
    • The Bureau of Patents
    • The Bureau of Trademarks
    • The Bureau of Legal Affairs
    • The Documentation, Information and Technology Transfer Bureau
  • Conducts the availability of the product thru online or local market and purchase if available in support of the Declaration of Actual Use.
  • Upon request, to the do the following:
    • Secures the search results from the consultants;
    • Assists in the investigation of the fake products in the market or in the surveillance of the place where the fake products are sold and distributed;
    • Secures the certified copy or digitized copy of the trademark /patent application and/or registration.
    • Conducts due diligence
  • Assists in the requests for legalization of documents from Regional Trial Court, Department of Foreign Affairs to the Embassies located in the Metro Manila.
  • Performs other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements Of The Job

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree graduate in Political Science, Legal Management or Business Administration or related field.

Experience

At least two (2) years work experience in a law firm, legal services, or a related industry.

Skills / Competencies Required

  • Effective communication skills (both oral and written) and ability to foster good relationships with key stakeholders (both internal and external)
  • Capable of independently developing effective solutions or approaches.
  • Capable of sorting, indexing, categorizing, ordering, and organizing information, data, and documents.
  • With a keen eye for details, a team player and flexible.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • With time management skills and has the ability to organize multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft (MS) Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and other similar software and databases to manage voluminous data
