Elsevier has an amazing opportunity for a talented designer to join a fast-paced, dynamic, global Marketing group to drive change and innovation. We see design as visual storytelling that informs and inspires. We're looking for a talented individual who can translate our new and evolving brand identity into our marketing activity while making every touchpoint visually engaging and emotionally impactful. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, from concept to final deliverable. The role needs to be able to balance multiple projects at once and to work well under pressure and often to tight deadlines following a robust set of corporate guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Effectively visualise and create concepts, giving direction on photography style, imagery, typography, and iconography.
  • Act as a brand ambassador to ensure design solutions follow our brand identity guidelines and maintain consistency and compliance across our design work.
  • Manage creative production through the design workflow system, Monday.com.
  • Consult with internal stakeholders to determine objectives, background information, budget, design approaches, styles and techniques.
  • Transform messaging and data into visually compelling digital assets for social/digital media consumption that support our global marketing campaigns.
  • Support the production of interactive editorial content and supporting assets for our thought leadership programmes.
  • Support our Global Events team by providing end-to-end creative assets for in-person and virtual events.
  • Collaborate within the Creative team, sharing ideas, best practices, problem-solving, and participating in developing project briefs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and thirst to investigate, innovate, and develop trends with an emphasis on digital application.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree holder
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a graphic/digital design role
  • Strong knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud applications
  • Photography experience and proficiency with photo-editing software
  • Strong knowledge of print production
  • Current knowledge of industry trends, latest digital technologies and software. Up to date with emerging and growing design trends and best practices (essential)
  • Excellent typographic and layout skills to create visually appealing and professional materials
  • Experience in video editing/animation (advantageous, not essential)
  • Experience in Canva is an advantage
