What You'll Do

As an Accountant, your role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Success in this position means effectively managing accounting functions, maintaining compliance with financial regulations, and supporting clients with high-quality financial reporting. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain accurate financial records through full-cycle bookkeeping, including recording transactions, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring general ledger accuracy.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly and year-end financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards.
  • Manage journal entries and adjustments during the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee key accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Process payroll-related entries and ensure compliance with payroll tax reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Prepare 1099 forms and support audit readiness by maintaining well-organized and accurate financial documentation.
  • Evaluate and enhance existing accounting procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Provide financial insights and tailored reporting through ad hoc analyses and support on client-driven projects and strategic initiatives.

What You Should Have

Must-haves:

  • Minimum of four years of experience in accounting, including managing the financial close process and overseeing key accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least six months of experience working remotely for a company based in North America, Europe, Australia, or the UAE, preferably within an accounting firm.
  • Experience in processing payroll entries, ensuring tax compliance, preparing 1099s, and maintaining accurate records for audit readiness.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms used by small businesses.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and its application.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Suite or Google Workspace (Sheets).
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a results-driven mindset and a commitment to achieving goals.
  • Experience in employee relationship management and performance evaluation techniques.
