The position holder is responsible for providing additional support to all related Environmental requirements of ARI. This position holder is also responsible for ensuring the environmental compliance of all project sites with the applicable environmental laws, rules, and regulations including but not limited to the conditions stipulated in the issued Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) and other environment-related permits/licenses.

Outcomes Expected And Responsibilities

  • Assists in the drafting of an effective Environmental Management Plan with appropriate environmental standards to curb potential environmental incidents and non-compliances.
  • Assists in the preparation and summary of the Environmental budget to optimize resources and maintain compliance.
  • Coordinates and processes environmental studies per project, including 3rd party services if necessary.
  • Prepares and creates Environmental procedures, policies, and guidelines related to project development and execution.
  • Recommends the planning and implementation of Environmental programs that are in line with the corporate goal of attaining World-Class Status.
  • Collaborates with the Stakeholder Relationship Compliance Team in getting necessary environmental documents such as SLUP, FLAg, EGGAR, Tree Cutting Permit, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with all government environmental licenses and permits by constantly monitoring requirements and timely submission to avoid fines and penalties.
  • Works hand in hand with the project-based Pollution Control Officer and ensures compliance with the ECC and EIMP commitments, including regular monitoring and reporting of all environmental matters, issues, or concerns that may arise throughout the duration of the project.
  • Reviews the contractor bidding and tendering documents to ensure alignment and achievement of overall Environmental goals.
  • Achieves Environmental goals through effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to addressing all non-compliance issues, monitoring Environmental compliance or performance, or gathering data to improve Environmental standards and procedures.
  • Conducts site visits to check conditions and support the project team as needed in the implementation of the Environmental Management Plan.
  • Performs regular inspections of sites, workshops, and offices to ensure environmental rules and procedures are followed and assures compliance of all project sites to applicable national, local, and community laws pertaining to the Environment.
  • Acts as a forest-management specialist of ARI.
  • Prepares all Environmental reports required by customers, company personnel, and/or regulatory agencies.
  • Prepares summary Environmental Management Plans, programs, incident reports, and accomplishment reports and applies mitigation/innovations to succeeding programs.
  • Monitors and prepares reports on Environmental KPIs and results.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant experience as an Environmental Officer or another similar role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other related courses

Preferred Qualifications

  • Had undergone PCO Training or experience being a Pollution Control Officer
  • Strong analytical and planning skills;
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;
