Associate Art Director
Job Summary:
The Associate Art Director will lead Smart Parenting's overall visual branding: From user interface, editorial content, direction of photo shoots, to marketing materials. This position will collaborate with Editorial and Publisher teams to translate brand visions into reality, creating output that reflects the brand values and speaks to the target demographic.
Responsibilities:
- Provides creative direction for Smart Parenting's visual assets.
- Develops concepts for photo and video shoots and collaborates with the team as needed.
- Establish relationships with photographers and set stylists.
- Works collaboratively and harmoniously as a teammate both within and outside the editorial team.
- Art direction of assets including image selection and direction during shoots.
- Meets with stakeholders to review work in progress and selects desired concepts.
- Works with internal stakeholders on projects/campaigns from the initial briefing through completion, and collaborates with other departments.
- Creates cross-channel visual communication strategies (digital, print, and motion).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree holder in Multimedia Arts, Fine Arts major in Advertising, or equivalent.
- Has 2-5 years work experience; agency experience is a plus
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.)
Must possess the following soft skills:
- Has a can-do spirit, with the ability to suggest solutions in the face of hurdles and challenges
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable with ambiguity
- Able to work with teams and independently
- Desire for self-improvement and upgrading of one’s skill sets
