We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer Assistant to support our U.S.-based design team in producing high-quality 2D architectural and electrical plan sets. This role is ideal for someone experienced with AutoCAD, meticulous about layout and scaling, and familiar with residential lighting or low-voltage systems.
Responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain 2D CAD plan sets for residential lighting and low-voltage system designs.
- Follow technical instructions and apply standard design templates consistently.
- Ensure accuracy in scaling, layering, and symbol use across all plans.
- Produce reflected ceiling plans, layout drawings, and elevation diagrams based on design direction.
- Use color coding and CAD layers to differentiate components (lighting, AV, network, security, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with design team leads and peers for feedback and revisions.
- Attend occasional internal Zoom meetings, and client meetings when needed.
- Organize and maintain digital CAD files and supporting documentation.
- Proactively solve design challenges and manage workload independently.
Requirements
- Graduated with a 3-year or 4-year Bachelor’s degree
- Candidates must provide either an NBI Clearance or Police Clearance (preferred) upon hiring
- Must be comfortable with using Hubstaff, a time-tracking application
- Proven experience with 2D CAD, especially architectural or electrical plans
- Strong attention to detail—scaling, accuracy, and symbol consistency is critical
- Familiarity with lighting, AV, or low-voltage system layouts
- Experience in residential electrical or lighting design
- Familiar with AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite and Canva
- Strong organizational skills for managing administrative tasks.
- Professional-level English (written and verbal/voice)
- Computer or laptop with access to the internet (minimum speed of 25 Mbps)
