Universal Robina Corporation is looking for a Scientist, Consumer Technical insights. The Scientist, Consumer Technical Insights, plays a pivotal role in translating consumer needs into technical product requirements. This role uses a range of sensory, qualitative, and quantitative methods to generate insights that guide product innovation, white space development, and competitive differentiation. The CTI Scientist partners closely with R&D and Consumer Market Insights teams to create consumer-preferred products and drive profitable growth.
What are the Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and execution of CTI programs, consolidating consumer and sensory data into clear, actionable insights that inform innovation pipelines and close key knowledge gaps.
- Act as the CTI lead for one or more product categories or countries, while supporting others based on expertise and capacity.
- Translate consumer understanding into technical guidance, effectively bridging consumer language and sensory panel outputs to enable faster, more informed product development.
- Conduct research studies from end-to-end—developing briefs, coordinating immersions and product preparations, designing research materials, and ensuring high-quality execution.
- Analyze research findings and deliver clear, impactful insights and recommendations that guide cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with internal partners to anticipate consumer needs, evaluate product and packaging opportunities, and assess the potential of new technologies.
- Stay current on advanced sensory and research methodologies, and contribute to continuous learning and capability building within the team.
- Uphold safety, data integrity, and ethical standards in all aspects of product testing and research execution
What are the Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in BS Food Technology, BS Food Science, BS Chemistry, BS Chemical Engineering, BS Economics, or other related courses.
- At least 3 years' experience, at least came from FMCG industry.
- Technical depth and savvy
- Knowledge of the technical and business side of the category
- Knowledge of updated food regulations
- Knowledge on P&L and basic costing exercises
- Knowledge on tools relevant to consumer behavior and buying pattern.
