Full job description
We are seeking an experienced Accountant well-versed in US GAAP. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of handling comprehensive accounting tasks, from financial reporting and reconciliations to ensuring compliance with US GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical background, proven problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Work schedule
- 40 hours per week
- Business hours within Eastern Time US (1pm-10pm EST)
Responsibilities
- Manage client inbox and correspondence to ensure timely responses and follow-through with clients.
- Manage client records and documents appropriately.
- Maintain orderly accounting filing system and chart of accounts for each client
- Document day-to-day financial transactions and complete posting process
- Calculate variances from budget and report issues to client
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable administration
- Create monthly financial statements and management reports
- Analyze client budgets
- Evaluate clients’ internal control systems, software, and databases
- Complete necessary tax forms
- Ensure data (records) are accurate and reconcile reports to third party records
- Support the client in activities relating to financial modeling, cash flow projections, data-driven financial strategies, and other financial services where your accountant lens could be useful
Qualifications
- Accounting experience together with a passion working with numbers, documenting and learning more about the accounting and finance world.
- 2+ experience as an Accountant.
- Knowledge of email communication software
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)
- Intermediate or Advanced level of Microsoft Excel skills desired.
- Preferred knowledge of NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar software
- Preferred knowledge of A/P Workflow systems such as bill.com, tipalti, etc. though not required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong data entry skills.
- Can work with minimal supervision once training/guidance is given.
- Enjoys critical thinking discussions, problem solving and learning more.

- Demonstrates thorough knowledge and/or a proven record of success in tax compliance-related processes within a tax services delivery center, preferably within a global network of professional services firms, including the following:
- Setting up the internal technology tools used to manage tax return processes;
- Preparing and filing tax extensions;
- Preparing data on relevant tax forms, reviewing and transmitting
- Receiving and organizing client data;
- Collecting, verifying, identifying outstanding information, and filing and notifying engagement team when complete;
- Receiving, sorting, processing and inputting external K1 tax return forms;
- Preparing E-filing tax returns, including clearing diagnostics, submission of returns, clearing rejections, filing confirmations, engagement team notification;
- Understanding the process workflows related to work requests from initiation through completion;
- Demonstrating teamwork dynamics by working as a team member
- Understanding individual and team roles;
- Contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members;
- Proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback.
- Consolidated filers with multinational and multistate operations (for Managers)
- Applying technical skills in completing and reviewing the following IRS tax forms: 1065/K1’s, 1120, 1120-F, 1042, 1042S. 8865, 5471, 8858, 8621, 5472, Form 8886
- Completing applicable state and partnership tax returns
- Directly report to a US based Tax Team Lead.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- At least 1 year of experience with US Tax, US GAAP and analysis work
- A Plus but not required: 3+ years working as financial auditor for big five auditing firms (Ernst & Young, Deloitte & Touche, Arthur Andersen, KPMG, PwC)
- Willing to work on night shift (US hours).
- Willing to work remotely.
- Can work with minimum supervision.
