Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced CPA Tax Accountant to join our team. This role is critical in managing tax compliance, providing strategic tax planning, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of US tax laws, experience working with small businesses, and the ability to thrive in a remote work environment. You will play a key role in enhancing the quality of our services, mentoring junior accountants, and driving improvements in our processes.

Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor”, the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will also be accountable for handling their taxes and benefits independently. The salary is calculated and offered on an hourly basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance and Preparation: Prepare and review tax returns for a portfolio of small business clients, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Client Advisory: Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients, helping them navigate complex tax issues and optimize their financial outcomes.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior accountants, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to best practices.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in tax preparation processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Client Communication: Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication and understanding of their tax obligations.
  • Data Security: Adhere to strict data security protocols to protect sensitive client information.

Requirements

  • CPA Certification: Active CPA license is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience in tax preparation
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks Online and other relevant accounting software.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of US tax laws and regulations or willingness to learn
  • Remote Work: Self-motivated and disciplined to work effectively in a remote environment, with strong organizational skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to handle complex tax issues and provide innovative solutions.
