DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review the work of team members for accuracy and ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Handle complex accounting tasks and resolve discrepancies.
  • Respond to client inquiries through written communication.
  • Responsible for training and developing bookkeepers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and trust.
  • Continuously assess team capacity and re-allocate tasks as necessary to optimize efficiency.
  • Help establish and maintain a strong departmental culture centered on professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or any related field
  • At least 4-6 years of accounting experience within the US, either in a private or public accounting firm; experience working with churches and non-profit organizations would be highly desirable
  • At least 2 years of experience in a team leadership position
  • Strong accounting knowledge, with an understanding of GAAP principles
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Remarkable attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly adapt to new accounting software and tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Bill.com, Divvy, Ramp, ADP and Gusto highly desirable
  • An individual who has a strong passion for church involvement and a commitment to supporting non-profit organizations
