Responsibilities
This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
- Performs a contract-wide Environmental, Safety, and Health evaluation, compliance, and behavioral monitoring that conforms to applicable legal and other requirements.
- Enforces policies on fire protection, public health, emergency responses, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) handling, environmental safety and health processes, and other field activities.
- Remains current in Environmental, Safety, and Health Program policies, and current industrial standards, as well as local DENR and DOLE OSH regulations.
- Communicates professionally, both orally and in writing, with their peers as needed to relay information necessary for job success. This includes, but is not limited to, staff meetings, projects, Quality Standard Procedures, and ESH best practices.
- Performs basic ESH duties and assist ESH Team members in further development of their skills; along with other duties as required.
- Maintains close contact with the ESH Supervisor and other team members to monitor program environmental, safety, and health practices.
- Performs other duties and assignments as required.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications: Two-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if degree is required.
- Associates Degree in Environmental, Safety, Health, or related discipline. Or combination advanced education and four-year ESH experience.
- Must have current Philippine pollution control officer and safety officer certificate.
- Experience:
- Minimum two years’ experience as environmental, safety and health specialist, with firsthand knowledge of operations in a behavior-based compliance program and hazardous material management, to include Environmental compliance; knowledgeable in DOD, Army, EPA, and Federal regulations.
- Military background is beneficial.
- Skills:
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to instruct small and medium groups of people
- Competent in computer operations to include Microsoft Office; Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Must have a strong ability to work independently as a member of a robust team
- Able to manage others to complete assigned task.
- MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
- Laptop and desktop computer systems, projector, and audio equipment, ESH evaluation measurement tools, and system testing equipment.
- WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Job assignments will involve work in and out-of-doors with exposure to extreme climatic conditions including frequent dust storms, and high temperatures.
- PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
- Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 lbs.; Work will require stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting; Work in areas where a potential exist for exposure to physical, chemical, and biological agents; Personal Protective Equipment is required when applicable, such equipment includes but is not limited to head; hand; foot; torso; respiratory; vision, and hearing protection.
