The role:

As a Financial Planning Assistant / Paraplanner, you will play a crucial role in supporting our financial advisers by preparing comprehensive financial plans, conducting research, and ensuring client records are accurate and up-to-date. While some experience in the industry is preferred, we are open to considering individuals who are quick learners, possess strong common sense and are eager to develop their skills in this field. Salary is negotiable for the right candidate.

As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with clients and assisting with queries
  • Prepare and assist in the development of tailored financial plans and strategy papers – training provided in this process
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, documentation and client portfolio reviews with exceptional accuracy
  • Collating and formatting documents to present to clients
  • Conducting research on client holdings and financial products (insurance, superannuation, investment)
  • Ensuring client information is accurately recorded and maintained in our systems
  • File management and ensuring compliance of files
  • Liaise with clients and other team members to gather relevant financial information and documents
  • Liaise with external financial institutions such as banks, insurance companies and superannuation fund managers
  • Lodgement of new business applications and follow up of outstanding requirements
  • Assist and support all team members with general administrative tasks, ongoing communication with clients, attend to incoming and outgoing calls and ad hoc duties

About you:

We are looking for a switched on and pro-active candidate with proven ability to work in a fast paced environment. This is a broad and varied role and so your ability to prioritise and multi-task will be second to none whilst providing impeccable service and support to our clients and the team.

Skills & Experience:

  • Diploma in Financial Planning completed
  • Undergoing appropriate tertiary education and/or tertiary qualified
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail – you will be handling and preparing financial documents where accuracy is critical
  • Warm, caring, and friendly personality with a strong desire for positive outcomes – you will be required to liaise with clients and internal staff at all levels so you must be able to demonstrate confident communication.
  • You will have the personality to take initiative and be pro-active in your role
  • You will be exceptionally organised but above all, have a fantastic work ethic
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with intermediate to advanced use – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
  • Previous experience within the Financial Planning industry in a support / administration role is beneficial
  • Previous experience using Plutosoft, and Salesforce highly regarded
