  • Membership in the Philippine Bar and a graduate of a reputable law school, whether located within or outside of Metro Manila.
  • Proficiency in both English and Filipino languages.
  • Strong aptitude for case management, including the ability to strategize, develop case theories, analyze evidence, and offer comprehensive legal advice to clients.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, characterized by attention to detail and a capacity to assess intricate legal matters and formulate effective strategies.
  • Proven ability to work harmoniously in a collaborative team environment, cooperating with fellow associates, paralegals, support staff, and other professionals.
  • Strong commitment to providing exceptional client service, including the ability to empathize, understand client needs, and maintain professionalism throughout interactions.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment, embracing changes in legal landscapes and shifting priorities.
  • Familiarity with legal research databases, case management software, and relevant technology tools associated with tax and corporate law.
  • Capability to maintain composure even in challenging situations.
  • Ideally, hands-on experience in trials, hearings, negotiations, mediations, or arbitrations, whether in paralegal roles or participation in moot court competitions.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Availability to commence work at the earliest opportunity.

Responsibilities

As a Junior Associate Attorney, you will undertake a diverse range of responsibilities spanning multiple practice areas. As you advance in your career trajectory, you will have the opportunity to specialize in distinct practice domains that align seamlessly with your skill set and strengths. The role of a Junior Associate entails a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Crafting and drafting petitions, motions, briefs, and other essential pleadings.
  • Formulating, reviewing, and finalizing contracts, agreements, settlements, and demand letters.
  • Conducting in-depth investigations into case facts and extensive research on pertinent laws, jurisprudence, articles, and journals.
  • Preparing letters, protests, and requests for submission to administrative agencies and local government units.
  • Devising strategies for optimal utilization of tax incentives under current laws, jurisprudence, and tax treaties.
  • Assisting in matters of corporate formation, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and due diligence.
  • Providing advice and guidance to clients on enhancing tax compliance and mitigating risks.
  • Representing clients before administrative agencies, particularly the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Bureau of Customs (BOC), Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), and Board of Investments (BOI).
  • Advocating on behalf of clients at various levels of our judicial system, with a primary focus on the Court of Tax Appeals (CTA), Court of Appeals (CA), and Regional Trial Courts (RTCs).
  • Representing clients in other interactions with various government offices.
  • Fostering robust client relationships by comprehending their needs, objectives, and priorities.
  • Crafting articles and case briefs for the website and social media pages of the Firm.
  • Fulfilling additional duties as assigned periodically.
