Job Description

Seeking a suitably qualified and reliable Coordinator - Community Relations (Exploration) for a Fixed Term employment of 1 year who will be working with the team for the implementation of the exploration activities within the required timeframe and approved budget. Also, work with the team to effectively and efficiently implement Community Engagement Plan, Community Development Program, and to obtain support and build strong relationships with local communities, Local Government Units (LGUs), and other relevant stakeholders. The role will report to the Supervisor – Community Relations (Exploration).

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assist in the community engagement to deliver plans and programs effectively, efficiently, and safely and in the conduct of immersion and Information, Education, and Communication (IEC)
  • Prepare necessary materials/documents/things needed during community engagement
  • In charge of documentation of activities, update day-to-day reports/records, and take minutes of meetings for record purposes and as basis for future meetings/engagement
  • Maintain, monitor, and update data/records
  • Process Community Development Fund billings and documentation
  • Report any feedback or concern received from the community and or any stakeholders
  • Work together with the other teams to deliver plans and programs effectively


Qualifications

  • Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way
  • Graduate of any Social Science-related courses (e.g., Social and Development Studies, Social Science, Human Ecology, Community Development, etc.) or its equivalent
  • At least one (1) year of relevant experience in conducting planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs, projects, and activities
  • With one (1) year of experience in implementing community development projects anchored on sustainable development
  • With a strong background in the application of research tools (quantitative and qualitative) to gain an in-depth understanding of social issues
  • Strong knowledge of local context and culture
  • Preferably can speak the Ilocano or Ifugao language
  • A motivated self-starter who can operate autonomously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Preferably with valid Professional Driver’s License and National Certificate II in Driving
