To effectively manage and optimize the company's foreign exchange (FX) and cash management functions by ensuring accurate and timely execution of FX transactions, optimizing liquidity positions, and mitigating financial risks. The Assistant Treasury Manager will be responsible for implementing robust cash flow forecasting models, ensure execution of foreign currency risk management strategies according to the Company’s policies, and maintaining strong relationships with banking partners. The goal is to safeguard the company’s financial stability, ensure sufficient liquidity for operations, and contribute to the overall strategic financial objectives through sound treasury practices and proactive risk management
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Foreign Exchange Management: Monitor and manage the Company’s foreign currency exposure and execute hedging strategies according to the Company’s policy. Execute FX transactions to manage the company’s foreign currency needs. Stay informed about any updates to BSP regulations regarding foreign currency exchange transactions to ensure the Company executes transactions in compliance with both banking and BSP regulations.
Cash Management: Oversee daily cash flow management and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet the company’s operational needs. Manage short-term investments and working capital to optimize returns. Perform cash forecasting to anticipate future liquidity needs and identify funding gaps.
Debt Management :Oversee and manage the company’s debt obligations, ensuring timely loan repayments, effective interest rate management, and compliance with financial covenants. Support the negotiation and structuring of debt facilities to ensure they align with the company’s overall financial strategy. Evaluate the company’s debt portfolio, optimize debt levels, and propose strategies to reduce financing costs.
Bank Relationship Management: Build and strengthen relationships with banking partners for FX and cash management services: Ensure adherence to banking agreements and monitor associated fees and services Manage the opening and upkeep of bank accounts.
Risk Management: Identify and evaluate financial risks associated with FX, liquidity, and debt, and develop strategies to mitigate them. Continuously review and enhance hedging, cash flow management, and debt servicing approaches to reduce exposure to market volatility and financial uncertainty.
Systems & Process Improvement: Support the automation and optimization of treasury processes and systems. Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve treasury operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Course, MBA degree is an advantage.
- 3-5 years of experience in treasury operations, with a strong background on FX, cash, and debt management.
- In-depth knowledge of FX markets, financial instruments, and cash flow forecasting techniques.
- Experience managing corporate debt, loan facilities, and compliance with financial covenants
- Preferably with BAP Treasury Certification Program or CPA
Other Requirements:
- Proficiency in treasury management systems and Excel.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Knowledge on financial accounting systems, preferably with SAP FICO and other ERP systems, financial processes, and familiarity with accounting transactions
- Knowledge on business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Anaplan)
- Strong team leadership and development skills
