Role Overview:
The Lending Business Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day business service delivery and performance of UD Loans (UDL), ecosystems and Special Projects assigned by the Lending Business Head.
- Develop, implement & execute strategies to achieve day to day business goals (booking and revenue targets)
- Manage UD Loans performance and by providing guidance and support to the specialists.
- Manage loan portfolios performance including but not limited to recoveries
- Work with support groups to drive and deliver business projects and initiatives
- Ensure compliance with lending regulations by following internal and industry standards
- Manage and execute special projects
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies to achieve business goals
- Work closely with the Business Head to establish targets, standards, goals, and key projects for the overall lending business success
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the lending business and achieve revenue targets
- Monitoring and analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify business opportunities.
- Thinking out of the box, performing experiments and pilots to drive disbursements and collection recoveries.
Overseeing the UD Loans lending team and providing guidance and support to drive performance.
- Drive business and strategic KPIs, monitor performance, build, train, and coach teams, perform consequence management, and execute business improvement initiatives
- Conducting periodic reviews of overall lending delivery and implementing process improvements as needed
- Responsible for facilitating and managing systems access related to UD loans.
Manage Loan Portfolio performance
- Managing loan portfolios and ensuring effective and efficient loan disbursement and collection processes.
- Providing regular reports and updates to senior management on the performance and outlook of the lending business.
- Analyzing financial performance, and conducting assessments to evaluate lending performance
- Monitoring loan performance, identifying early warning signs of default, and implementing corrective measures.
- Responsible for planning, forecasting, and managing Opex, budgets, and analyzing the financial and overall lending performance of the assigned business portfolio
- Ensure all roadblocks are addressed for smooth and effective disbursements and higher recoveries.
- Execute strong collection performance output by engaging the Collections team to deliver expected results.
Work with support groups
- Developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders, and bank groups, including borrowers, financial institutions, regulatory bodies, and vendors to deliver results.
- Collaboration with relevant stakeholders to assess and mitigate risks impacting business performance and achieving targets
- Work closely with the Lending product team to ensure timely implementation and activation of critical business builds.
Ensure compliance with lending regulations
- Ensuring compliance with lending regulations, internal policies, and industry practices
- Reviewing and approving lending-related business decisions and ensuring adherence to lending policies and procedures
- Responsible for automation of the business processes, drafting policies, and ensuring full documentation of the business processes.
- Ensuring completeness of BSP submissions, audit related items, and presentations.
Special Projects
- Work closely with the Business Head to identify projects that will support or enhance the lending process or create new lending opportunities.
- Perform project management to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of the special projects.
- Ensure timely delivery of the projects along with performance and financial outputs as expected.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in managing lending operations, preferably in a financial institution.
- In-depth knowledge of lending practices, regulations, and risk management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Results-oriented mindset and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in using loan management systems and office applications.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to adapt to changing markets, and fast-paced work environment and implement strategies accordingly.
