The Compliance Officer at Connext will be responsible for ensuring that our operations and business transactions follow all relevant legal and internal rules. They will collaborate closely with various departments to monitor compliance with policies and procedures, mitigate risk, and uphold our commitment to ethical practices.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Compliance with Global Legal Regulations
o Serve as the main point of contact and representative for all Philippine government agencies and support the local point of contact for other global sites.
o Develop and implement compliance programs that align with local standards.
o Ensure Connext’s compliance with all legal business requirements, including:
- Monthly, quarterly and yearly filing with LGUs, SEC, DOLE, BIR, BOI, etc.
- Yearly GIS renewal and submission of Audited Financial Statements
- Yearly Renewal Business Permit, Occupancy Permit, BFP and Sanitary Permits
- Renewal of Certificate of Tax Exemption and Certificate of Income Tax Holiday
- Preparation of Vat Exempt Certificates for Vendors
- VISA and Work Permit Renewals as necessary
- Obtain necessary permits for new projects or expansions.
o Review, maintain, and manage all contracts with vendors and locators and ensures compliance with terms and conditions.
o Conduct regular audits to identify compliance issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
o Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and update internal policies accordingly.
o Provide guidance to management and employees on compliance matters.
o Investigate compliance violations, incidents, or concerns raised by employees or external parties. Develop and implement corrective actions or remediation plans as needed.
o Conduct training sessions for employees on compliance-related topics.
o Track and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
• Process Audit and Compliance
o Conduct regular audits and assessments of internal business processes to identify areas of non-compliance or potential risk.
o Lead the completion and documentation of periodic reviews of process documents as stipulated.
o Lead efforts in DOLE Audits, SOC 2 Audits, and other compliance or regulatory audits
• Client Obligations Audit and Compliance
o Read all existing and new client agreements
o Create and maintain a compliance checklist based on client agreements, including timelines and responsible parties.
o Monitor and report on compliance with all client agreement requirements, such as Insurance Coverage and Renewals, employee background checks, IT requirements and policies, client specific processes, vendor risk assessments, SOC 2 report submissions, HIPAA Certificates, etc.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a Compliance Officer or in a similar role within the Philippines, preferably in a BPO or related industry.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing compliance programs compliant with Philippine laws and regulations and compliance audits, including SOC 2, PCI DSS, and ISO standards within the Philippine regulatory environment.
- In-depth understanding of relevant Philippine laws, regulations, and industry standards, including SEC, BIR, and LGU regulations.
- Familiarity with Philippine compliance frameworks and best practices outlined by regulatory bodies.
- In-depth knowledge of Philippine regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
- Experience in reviewing, maintaining, and managing client and vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and provide practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive information and confidential matters.
Work Location: Hybrid / WFH (Angeles City, Davao, or Ortigas)
Work Schedule: 7 AM - 4 PM, Tuesday to Saturday, PH time
