Key Responsibilities
General Accounting Functions
- Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including the preparation and posting of journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
- Assist in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records in compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing account balances and ensuring the correct classification of transactions.
Month-End and Year-End Closing
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing adjusting journal entries, financial statements, and account reconciliations.
- Ensure all assigned accounts are reconciled accurately and closing schedules are met punctually, maintaining a high level of precision throughout the process.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related documentation for internal and external audits.
Financial Reporting
- Collaborate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Work closely with external and internal auditors, providing necessary documentation and clarifications during audits to ensure compliance and transparency.
Analysis of Management Reports
- Assist in creating management reports and conducting analyses of financial performance, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs) to support strategic decision-making.
- Perform detailed variance analysis, comparing actual results to budget and forecasts, and provide thorough explanations for any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional finance teams to interpret data effectively and make recommendations for financial enhancements and risk mitigation.
Regulatory Compliance
- Support the preparation of reports required by government agencies and regulatory bodies (e.g., BIR, SEC) to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Assist in compiling necessary data and documentation for external audits and regulatory reviews.
Process Improvement and Internal Controls
- Participate actively in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance overall financial operations and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to initiatives that strengthen the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
Collaboration and Communication
- Foster collaboration with other teams (e.g., Finance, Treasury, Tax) to ensure alignment of financial information and address departmental financial needs effectively.
- Communicate financial performance results, challenges, and opportunities to the Accounting Manager and Finance Controller in a clear and concise manner.
Other Ad Hoc Duties
- Undertake special projects as assigned by the Finance Controller or Accounting Manager, focusing on initiatives to enhance financial processes, data accuracy, or operational efficiency.
- Support the organization during financial system upgrades or process automation initiatives, contributing to improved workflows and efficiency.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in general accounting, financial reporting or a similar role
- Hands-on experience with financial statements and variance analysis
- Proficiency in accounting systems and ERP platforms
- Advanced skills in Excel and Google Workspace tools
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in preparing and analyzing management reports
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct
- Willing to work onsite from Mondays to Fridays from 9 AM to 6 PM
