Role Description
This is a contract, on-site role located in Metro Manila for a Paralegal Assistant at a law firm. The Paralegal Assistant will be responsible for legal document preparation, notary assistance, communication with clients and stakeholders, legal research, and supporting the legal team in various administrative tasks.
Tasks include but not limited to:
• Providing wide-range of administrative support to multiple attorneys relative to their tasks and caseworks
• Preparing legal documents such as affidavit, demand letter, contract, pleading, motion, and other documents necessary for court filing
• Drafting memorandum, appeal brief, manifestation, and compliance (on behalf of attorneys) for submission to appropriate court
• Filing documents to appropriate court and government office
• Proofreading case documents to ensure accuracy upon submission
• Conducting legal research relative to assigned cases and other legal matters
• Daily phone call communication with court officials such as clerks, sheriffs, and other court staff to follow-up on cases, request for documents, and conduct general inquiries
• Attending to court hearings (while supervised by attorneys) and providing client support
• Attending to different courts for necessary caseworks such as docket inspection and inquiry for filing requirements
• Regularly updating case calendars and case status reports
• Creating efficient database for court dockets for completeness and organization; organizing hard copies as well
• Preparing reports for monthly departmental meetings
• Involvement in Senior Partner and Client meetings

- Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, or related field
- Previous experience in a legal setting is a splus
