Job Description

The IT Project Manager manages a diverse range of technical Information Technology (IT) projects. The management of projects, typically (but not exclusively) involving the development and implementation of business processes to meet identified business needs, acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales and quality.

The role is also responsible for the planning, management and delivery of new capabilities and system enhancements and delivering these in accordance with the approved project scope and consistent with Pilmico’s Project Management Methodology (PPMM). Within the SFIA profile, the Project Manager must demonstrate Level 4 responsibilities, i.e. Enable on the competencies outlined.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Professional membership or certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)

Additional Information

  • Proven experience as a project manager for IT projects and has comprehensive knowledge of relevant development life-cycles
  • Able to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to relay complex technical issues to a non-technical audience in an engaging and informative manner
  • Proven analytical, problem solving and design skills – able to visualise large, complex situations and break them into component parts to drive appropriate actions
  • Working knowledge of project management software (e.g. MS Project, Project Server, Project Libre, Smartsheet)
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods with in-depth knowledge of at least one methodology (e.g. PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile)
