The role

We are seeking a Mass Onboarding & Incubation Lead within the Business Development arm of Lazada's Commercial team. This role involves leading a team that will manage mass seller acquisition efforts, ensure new sellers complete their onboarding journey, and help them grow through key platform initiatives.

The Team Lead will oversee strategy development and day-to-day operations, mentoring the team to meet goals and ensure seamless execution. The pipeline involves a large volume of sellers, requiring a combination of strategic leadership and operational agility.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Seller Acquisition & Lead Generation:

  • Drive initiatives to attract individuals and small businesses to sign up as sellers on Lazada.
  • Oversee online marketing campaigns, events, partnerships, and other offline efforts to generate leads.
  • Coordinate with the partnerships team to develop partnerships with local organizations, associations, or networks to widen the seller base.

Onboarding Process Management:

  • Ensure newly signed-up sellers complete their onboarding process by submitting the necessary documents, uploading products, and preparing their store for launch.
  • Utilize mass communication tools like Seller Center, Viber and other messaging platforms to
  • Guide sellers through the onboarding process.
  • Manage an extended workforce responsible for seller visits, calls, and follow-ups to ensure onboarding is completed in a timely manner.

Seller Incubation & Growth:

  • Lead efforts to incubate live sellers by driving the utilization of New Seller Packages, analyze their effectiveness in enabling sellers, and iterate as needed.
  • Encourage the adoption of Lazada's key programs including free shipping, campaign participation, and marketing solutions.
  • Develop strategies to educate sellers at scale, using webinars, training materials, and digital communication channels to help them optimize their sales and grow on the platform.

Team Leadership & Strategy Development:

  • Develop and lead the overall strategy for mass acquisition, onboarding, and incubation of a large volume of sellers.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the day-to-day activities of the team, ensuring clear objectives, performance targets, and timely execution.
  • Monitor team performance, providing feedback, coaching, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, customer care, and logistics to ensure a seamless seller journey.

Performance Tracking & Reporting:

  • Track key metrics related to seller acquisition, onboarding completion rates, and seller growth.
  • Report on team performance, seller pipeline progress, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to optimize the seller experience and increase engagement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in team leadership, ideally within e-commerce, sales, or business development.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in managing external and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage a team, lead by example, and provide mentorship and guidance to team members.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable working with large pipelines and performance metrics.
  • Strong background in seller acquisition, lead generation, and/or onboarding.
  • Experience with mass communication tools (e.g., Viber, email marketing platforms) and CRM systems is a plus.
  • Business development and merchant acquisition experience, also a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
