The Sr. Cannery Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic planning to achieve the department goals in terms of volume, quality & cost. Ensures safe & efficient operations and carry out supervisory responsibility in accordance with company’s policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Cannery manager is responsible on the following:
- Oversees the manpower, equipment and processes including implementation of company policies, approved manufacturing processes & practices to ensure production of safe & quality products.
- Communicates job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising & reviewing job contributions of subordinates
- Monitors KPIs and provides feedback to operational staff.
- Approves departmental policies and makes critical decisions for the business.
- Manages the department’s over-all budget and maintains accurate financial records.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards & procedures
- Leads the effective validations of CCPs/oPRPs (Operational PRP) and ensure these are done in accurate and timely manner.
- Leads the prompt investigation of consumer complaints by ensuring proper review of production data, root cause investigation, formulation of corrective actions, and effective implementation of CAPA (corrective action/ preventive actions) to continuously reduce complaints.
- Leads the effective implementation of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), PRPs (Pre-requisite Programs): Sanitation, Personnel Practices to produce safe and quality products.
- Reviews systems and coordinates with QA to ensure alignment of best practices, including implementation of applicable corrective actions to address quality complaints.
- Communicates all operating policies or issues at department meetings
- Identifies training needs & coordinates training activities to enhance technical skills of employees.
- Prepares accomplishment reports on performance of department for top management.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of any Engineering courses, Food Technology or related courses.
Experience:
- At least 10 years’ experience in Cannery Operations
- At least 5 years' experience in a managerial position in the same industry
