One of the hi-growth fintech companies in SEA is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to help setup, organise, and manage our finance function in the Philippines.
The Finance Manager reports directly to the Regional Finance Controller and local Management. As this will be one of the first hires for the Company in the Philippines, the candidate will need to be driven, entrepreneurial, and able to work autonomously.
With the support of Senior Management in Jakarta and Singapore, you will be part of a tight small group of highly motivated and experienced individuals to make this happen, be prepared to stretch yourself by leading multiple high-impact, high-visibility initiatives! You will also be one of the first hires for the Company in the Philippines and have amazing opportunities ahead of you.
Job Responsibilities:
- Handle a full set of accounting including audit, tax and secretarial matters. Ensuring transactions including accruals and provisions are accounted for properly
- Handle finance operations including daily/weekly reconciliation with merchants to ensure that underlying data and cash movements are accurate
- Monthly P/L reconciliation to ensure sales, purchases and costs are captured in a timely and accurate manner
- Attending to audit, tax and bank queries
- Liaise with the HQ finance team, ensuring inter-companies transactions are accounted for
- Supporting Group Finance and Management in business decision-making and making recommendations based on sound financial and business analysis
- Responsible for improving financial controls and accounting procedures to ensure full compliance with Philippines’s regulations and reporting standards
- Ensuring compliance and adherence to Philippines financial compliance matters such as VAT reporting, Corporate Income Tax reporting, etc.
Your requirements:
- Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in accounting, ideally in a SEC regulated financing and/or lending company
- Certified Public Accountant or Big 4 audit firm experience is a plus
- Well versed in government statutory rulings and requirements
- Working knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) or equivalent
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel and strong database skill
- Working knowledge of cloud accounting systems like NetSuite
- Highly motivated, independent self-starter, team player, and able to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment that is continually changing
- High integrity and sense of commitment and has a strong sense of ownership
- Fluency in Filipino/Tagalog and English a must
