Job Summary: An Accessibility Consultant is Responsible for Ensuring that Digital Product(s) and Service(s) are Accessible to People with Disabilities. You will be seen as an Expert in Identifying and Addressing Accessibility Barrier(s), Advocating for Inclusive Design, and Ensuring Compliance with Relevant Accessibility Standard(s) and Regulation(s). Daily Responsibilities would also Include Conducting Accessibility Audit(s), Developing Accessibility Guideline(s) and Standard(s), Providing Training and Support, and Collaborating with Cross-Functional Team(s) in Executing and Completing Expected Day-to-Day Function(s).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Accessibility Audit(s): Evaluate Digital Product(s) and Service(s) for Compliance with Accessibility Standard(s) such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guideline(s)) and Section 508; Develop Accessibility Guideline(s) and Standard(s): Create and Maintain Guideline(s) and Standard(s) for Accessible Design and Development
  • Identify and Address Accessibility Barrier(s): Identify and Remove Barrier(s) that may Hinder the Use of Digital Product(s) and Service(s) by People with Disabilities; Provide Training and Support: Educate Team Member(s) on Accessibility Best Practice(s) and Provide Support for Implementing Accessible Solution(s)
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Team(s): Work with Designer(s), Developer(s), and Other Stakeholder(s) to Ensure that Accessibility is Integrated into all aspects of the Product Development; Stay Up-to-Date with Accessibility Trend(s): Keep Informed About the Latest Accessibility Standard(s), Technologies, and Best Practice(s)

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

  • 8+ Year(s) of Experience Working in Accessibility Consulting, Developing, and Testing Accessibility with at least 1 Year(s) Minimum in a Project Management Capacity, COPC Auditor Certification, Green Belt Six Sigma Certified
  • High Level of Operating Knowledge and Professional Experience Using various Google Accessibility Product(s) and Feature(s) (Android, Chrome, ChromeVox, Google Suite Application(s)), Strong Understanding of Accessibility Standard(s) and Guideline(s) such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guideline(s)) and Section 508
  • Knowledge of Assistive Technologies and their Use by People with Disabilities, Strong Knowledge on Current Accessibility Technology Trend(s) and Dynamics, Experience Conducting Accessibility Audit(s) and Testing, Skill in Creating Audit Form(s) and Performing End-to-End Audit for each Critical Department within the Program (Workforce, Training and Quality, Operations) and Provide Necessary Recommendation(s) Based on Finding(s)
  • Ability to Assess and Categorize Process Improvement Critical Level(s) and Deployment, Proven Ability to Assess, Reproduce, Escalate, and Track Different Issue(s), Has the Passion for Creating Inclusive Digital Experience(s), Operating Knowledge of Google's Accessibility Feature(s) (Example(s): Talkback, Live Captions, Live Transcribe, Action Blocks, ChromeVox, Color Correction, Magnification, Keyboard Access, Sound Amplifier, Select to Speak, Voice Access and Control, Switch Access and Control)
  • Operating Knowledge and Experience Using Screen Reader(s) on Both Web and Mobile Platform(s) (Talkback, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, ChromeVox), Operating Knowledge of Utilizing Assistive Technologies with Google Product(s) in Both Web and Mobile (Google Assistant, Google Search, Google Mail, Google Chrome, YouTube, Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Meet)
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills, Ability to Work Effectively with Cross-Functional Team(s), Strong Organizational and Customer Support Skills, Motivated and Creative Thinker with Strong Problem Solving Aptitude, Ability to Comprehend, Analyze, and Interpret Huge Amount of Data Using Analytical Tool(s)
