Overview

The Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist is responsible for leveraging data to drive insights and to support strategic decision-making within the organization. This role involves gathering, analyzing, and visualizing data to help improve business processes, drive growth, and enhance operational efficiency. The BI Specialist works closely with various departments under consumer business as well as big data team, to understand data needs and create comprehensive, data-driven reports and dashboards.

Functions and Responsibilities

Data Collection & Analysis

o Gather and analyze data from various sources, including databases, ERP systems, and CRM platforms.

o Manage and maintain BI databases and data flows and ensure efficient data flows and availability.

o Conduct data validation and ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Report Development, Data Visualization & Interpretation:

o Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and scorecards to monitor business performance.

o Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to stakeholders to support business objectives and identify trends.

o Create data visualizations that simplify complex information for non-technical users.

o Interpret data insights and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.

Collaboration & Communication:

o Work closely with other teams to understand their data requirements and provide tailored BI solutions.

o Present data findings and trends to key stakeholders, translating technical insights into business terms.

Continuous Improvement:

o Stay up to date with BI trends and best practices to recommend and implement process improvements.

o Regularly assess and refine reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Job Skills & Qualifications

Education:

o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

Experience:

o Minimum of 2 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a similar role.

Technical Skills:

o Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and SQL is essential.

o Knowledge of Tableau Prep is essential.

o Proficiency in data modeling and data integration methods.

o Experience working with large datasets and complex data environments.

o Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.

Certifications:

o Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau Desktop Specialist, or equivalent) are a plus.
