ABOUT THE ROLE

Provides claims lodgement, assessment and follow up service to clients of Steadfast:

• Manage the initial and ongoing assessment of a portfolio of claims within agreed service standards and duration targets.

• Collect accurate information to proceed with a claim.

• Monitor the progress of a claim.

• Provide assistance with decisions for a portfolio of claims in accordance with clearly defined assessment practices and procedures.

• Process payments and ensure claims are paid in a timely manner.

• Ensure fair settlement of a valid claim by the insured.

• Answer general incoming calls as required.

• Manage high volume of calls and emails.

• Handle queries to limits of role or delegate to the most appropriate staff member.

• Provide advice on making a claim and the processes involved.

• Ensure the customer is treated fairly.

• Undertake Professional Development activities as outlined in training plan.

• Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with relevant statutory and industry requirements and codes.

• Develop an adequate level of technical knowledge and ensure it is maintained or expanded.

• Adhere to internal privacy guidelines and maintain confidentiality.

• Strong emphasis on exceptional written and verbal communication with relevant parties to a claim.

• Maintain an understanding of the products and services offered by the Company.

• Ensure principles of good customer conduct are adhered to.

• Work effectively with team/work group or those outside the formal line of authority (e.g. peers, senior managers) to accomplish organisational goals.

• Support management direction and change initiatives.

• Take actions that respect the needs and contributions of others.

• Support other Claims Team members.

• Maintain current knowledge of and adhere to company policies and principles as detailed.

• Ensure claims assessment is carried out within agreed process and time frame.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Moderate experience in a professional environment, insurance, brokerage or financial industry.

• Experience interpreting legislation and insurance policies.

• Educational background related to business studies.

• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills

• Good organizational skills and attention to details.

• Customer service experience and call handling.

• Microsoft Office programs – Word, Excel, etc.

• Outlook – categorizing, task management, search, calendar

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
