We’re looking to recruit an outstanding Head of Science & STEAM to join our Manila school, a Nord Anglia Education school.
ABOUT YOU: You will be able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment, you will possess a university degree, a recognised teaching qualification, and teaching experience. Committed and creative, you will be reflective on your own teaching and student outcomes, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative methods to raise the school’s level of achievement.
Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students.
THE ROLE
NAIS Manila is at an incredibly exciting phase of its development, and the right candidate will have the opportunity to continue to develop an already strong Science department, and to shape the future development of a rapidly growing school.
You will be an outstanding, passionate and dynamic Science Teacher, with the ability to teach Key Stage 3 and 4 Science, as well as either Biology, Chemistry or Physics to A Level. Experience of the CAIE examination requirements is highly desirable.
As a genuine team-player, you’ll work not only with the rest of the Nord Anglia Manila secondary team, but across also with our regional and central teams to ensure that the highest quality lessons are taught and to ensure that everything we do is connected to our vision to create a generation of resilient and creative global citizens who will change our world for the better.

SELECTION PROCESS: There will be three stages of interview, including a panel interview. First stage interviews will be conducted via online video calls and final interviews will take place at the Nord Anglia Education Recruitment Event in central London in the week commencing 22nd January 2025 (alternative arrangements will be made for candidates who cannot attend in person).

- Lead on the creation of outstanding learning opportunities for our students throughout the STEAM and Science curricula.
- Ensure that lessons are planned and delivered with a view to fostering a love of learning as well as success in internal and external assessments.
- Provide regular, constructive feedback (written and oral) to students about their progress and next learning steps and ensure this is done consistently across the department.
- Prepare written reports of student performance and progress and conduct parental conferences.
- Take responsibility for the development of a high-quality curriculum and assessment profile within Science and STEAM.
- Ensure that across the department area, all colleagues are supported to be able to plan and deliver outstanding lessons which are personalised to the specific needs of the students in the class.
- To be an integral member of the secondary leadership team.
- Maintain a growth mindset towards continued professional development and support all colleagues in personalising their professional development process appropriately.
- UK qualification with QTS status or Equivalent
- Extensive experience teaching and leading in a secondary (and ideally international) school environment.
- Proven track record of success in IGCSE/AS/A level examinations.
- A positive, ‘can-do’ work ethic.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for producing reports and presentations.
- Good cross-cultural, interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse nationalities and cultures.
- Excellent analytical skills – with the passion and drive to demonstrate and quantify success.
- Results orientated with the ability to consistently map efforts against identified KPIs.
- Excellent time management skills and flexibility in dealing with multi-functional tasks.
- You’d like to work in a purpose-led sector.
