Job Summary

  • Responsible for the implementation of the Environmental and Social Management System Policy. Provides support in ensuring compliance with the BSP directives relevant to mitigating Environmental and Social risks.

How will you contribute?

  • Analyze, review, and confirmation of the Environmental Risk Category of corporate accounts.
  • Conducts and completes Environmental and Social Due Diligence site visits and desk reviews for selected high-risk projects, involving technical and analytical assessment of the borrower’s compliance with national laws and Performance Standards of the International Finance Corporation.
  • Prepares ESDD reports and regular monitoring of the projects’ performance versus conditions in the Environmental Compliance Certificate and ESDD reports.
  • Provides guidance and authority in carrying out of the knowledge-sharing, mentoring, and conduct of ESMS training for business units. Integrate technical expertise in the conduct of due diligence on high-risk projects and similar pipelines and existing projects of the business units.
  • Provides support to the Sustainable Lending Department Head and Chief Sustainability Officer in ensuring the timely and complete compliance with ESMS-related directives of the BSP
  • Responsible for organizing ESMS-related site visits and ensuring that the incurrence of costs within the internally approved budget, and timely reporting of deliverables
  • Serves as the accountable officer for the coordination with RCBC’s Customer Care team on third-party E&S concerns, updating, maintenance, and enhancement of database on ESMS reporting, accomplishment of ESMS presentation materials for use in internal meetings and external ESG events, updating of ESMS information on the website
  • Performs other functions as may be required, in support of the Portfolio Analytics and Sustainable Asset Management teams, and in compliance with BSP directives, SEC disclosures, and ESG external assessments

What will make you successful?

  • Graduate of a 4-year course preferably in Engineering, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or related specialized fields
  • Knowledge of policies and frameworks for environmental management, environmental standards, and sound E&S practices
  • At least five years of full-time experience in E&S assessment and analysis
  • At least two years of industry experience in banking or related fields, engaged in risk analysis
  • Knowledge of banking practices as well as regulatory policies, systems, and procedures
  • Must be detail-oriented and have a keen sense and initiative in complying with reporting requirements and guidelines
  • Has the ability to facilitate meetings effectively and interact with top management
