Job Summary:
The Compensation and Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing and administering the company’s compensation and benefits programs for the Manila office. This role ensures that the company’s benefits structures are competitive, fair, and aligned with the overall HR strategy. The specialist will also work on benefits planning, compliance, payroll coordination, and support the Manila office in driving initiatives related to employee total rewards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compensation Management
Maintain up-to-date compensation files in the HRIS and other systems, including salary information, pay grade changes, incentive eligibility, and job title adjustments. Verify that records are complete, accurate, and accessible for reporting.
Track and record all employee changes related to compensation, such as promotions, transfers, role adjustments, and salary increases. Ensure timely and accurate updates to maintain data integrity.
Regularly audit compensation data to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal standards and legal requirements. Identify and correct any discrepancies or inconsistencies in compensation records.
- Benefits Administration
Administer employee benefits programs, including health and life insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other company-initiated benefits.
Collaborate with external providers to manage benefits plans and resolve employee inquiries or issues.
Evaluate and recommend enhancements to the benefits programs to improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Compliance and Reporting
Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax requirements, and company policies related to compensation and benefits.
Prepare regular reports and analytics for HR leadership, including salary benchmarking, benefits usage, and cost analysis.
Work with Finance and other departments to ensure accurate payroll data and reporting.
- Payroll Support
Support payroll processes by providing accurate and timely information on compensation changes, deductions, and benefits.
Review and verify timekeeping and payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies.
- Employee Support and Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for compensation and benefits inquiries for Manila employees.
Develop and deliver effective communication materials on compensation and benefits topics, including new hire orientations, benefits updates, and open enrollment periods.
Educate employees about their benefits and total rewards, fostering an understanding of the value offered by the company.
- Process Improvement and Policy Development
Continuously assess and improve compensation and benefits processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
Assist in developing and updating compensation and benefits policies and procedures in alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in compensation and benefits administration, preferably in a multinational or shared services environment.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits principles, practices, and local labor laws.
- Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and HRIS systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Experience with payroll and benefits administration systems.
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid work arrangement with 2 days a week requirement in the Manila office.
- Regular office hours (night shift), with flexibility as needed to support payroll cycles or urgent compensation and benefits tasks.
