We are looking for a skilled Contract Medical Billing and Financial Operations Specialist to manage billing, financial reconciliation, and payroll tasks from a remote location, providing critical support for our practice’s operational efficiency.

Job Summary:
The Contract Medical Billing and Financial Operations Specialist will be responsible for coding, billing, collections, benefit verification, QuickBooks reconciliations, and payroll calculations. This remote role requires expertise in medical billing, financial operations, and client communication to support the practice’s financial health and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Coding and Billing:
Assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and other codes for mental health services.
Prepare, submit, and follow up on insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
Manage denied claims, resubmit as needed, and resolve outstanding claims.
Collect payments from clients on a weekly basis and follow up on unpaid balances.
Input provider billing information accurately in the system.

Credentialing:
Manage initial credentialing and re-credentialing of providers with various insurance panels.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date credentialing information and documentation for each provider.
Address any issues with insurance panels and follow up to ensure timely enrollment and re-enrollment.
Guide new providers through credentialing applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Benefit Verification:
Verify insurance benefits and provide clients with details on coverage and out-of-pocket costs.
Support clients in understanding their benefits related to mental health services.

Revenue Management, Collections and Client Payment:
Follow up on outstanding balances and set up payment plans with clients as needed.
Communicate with clients regarding billing, payment options, and insurance coverage.
Address client billing inquiries professionally and compassionately.

Administrative Support:
Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) to ensure accurate billing data and compliance.
Support the implementation of billing, coding, and financial protocols.
Assist with special projects and financial operations as needed.
Perform monthly reconciliations in QuickBooks to ensure accurate financial tracking.
Calculate payroll for staff and contractors, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
Track accounts receivable and payable, manage expense reports, and assist with budgeting.
Generate monthly financial summaries and reports for management review.

Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in medical billing, collections, financial management, and credentialing Required.
Certification in medical coding and billing (e.g., CPC, CCA, or equivalent) is preferred.
Bookkeeping or finance experience is preferred but not required.
Experience in Mental Health setting preferred but not required.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with EHR, billing systems, and clearinghouse systems such as Availity and claim MD,
Proficiency with Credentialing applications such as CAQH, medicare and medicaid portals, etc...
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of CPT codes, ICD-10, insurance billing, and credentialing applications and processes.
Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy in financial reporting, calculations, and coding to prevent errors.
Communication: Effective verbal and written skills for client, provider, and insurance company interactions.
Compliance: Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to confidentiality.

Compensation:
This is a contract position with compensation based on experience.
Payment terms and invoicing frequency to be discussed upon hiring.
