Virgin Music Group is currently looking for Country Manager to be based in the Philippines.

About The Role

The position will focus on developing VMG’s business in the market, identifying and realizing new opportunities and growing the client base, while working with the wider VMG team to ensure a globally cohesive strategy. Working as part of the VMG global team, the Country Manager will manage the day to day activities for our distributed labels, working to develop and promote distributed music and video content in Indonesia, maximize international opportunities and to provide local market knowledge, expertise and insight. The successful candidate will have a strong passion and knowledge of music and pop culture with an excitement for independent label and artist development. They will be a creative strategist with a strong understanding of the opportunities in the digital landscape. They will have a wide range of industry contacts and use their network to help drive new business and partnership opportunities in the region.

The Country Manager will also be asked to spend some time working with the regional head to help develop the overall VMG strategy for the region.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Plan and execute growth strategy for VMG in the Philippines
  • Brand Ambassador for VMG: representing the company at trade events, festivals, and to the wider industry
  • Source/ identify potential new partners, and work with the wider team to target and close new deals
  • Master the VMG platform and internal tools, perform demos for potential labels and artists
  • Manage relationships with local label partners acting as the primary point of contact externally to the label, and internally representing the labels' interests
  • Work with local partners to help them grow their revenues
  • Liaise with all internal departments to ensure all label partners' business needs are met
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders on commercial and promotional activity within the market
  • Work with the Commercial and Label Management teams to strategize on growth of local music content on a global level
  • Work with the Commercial and Label Management teams to help develop commercial, marketing & promotional plans for local and international repertoire
  • Maintain relationships with key DSPs to promote distributed content and ensure an exceptional understanding of current marketing opportunities, systems, strategies and best practices
  • Work with local and regional UMG offices and teams to ensure VMG representation and integration
  • Source and develop engagement, marketing and promotional partners in the country for our labels to utilize
  • Manage the local VMG office, motivating staff, directing the team and facilitating recruitment where necessary


Skills and Experience:


  • Significant experience within a label, distribution, digital service or management company working with labels, managers and artists
  • Passionate about music discovery and a fan of multiple genres of music with the ability to represent Ingrooves in the marketplace
  • Extensive knowledge and relationships in the independent music community
  • Strong relationship builder, creative and resourceful at getting to the finish line
  • Experience in sourcing, interpreting and presenting industry insights and analytics in the commercial process
  • Articulate in written and oral communication
  • Ability to maintain multiple project timelines with close attention to detail
  • Experience with leading digital music services, social media applications, and digital music best practices
  • Experience with digital distribution
  • International music business experience a plus
  • Languages: English, Filipino
