Your Role
As a Credit Risk Officer or Trust Credit Officer, you play a pivotal role in ensuring that Maybank Philippines, Inc. (MPI) Trust Division adheres to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) guidelines on managing credit risk. Your responsibilities encompass a comprehensive assessment of counterparty evaluations, credit processes, and risk management, ensuring that the credit risk management framework is robust and aligned with industry best practices. By analyzing the creditworthiness of counterparties, you contribute significantly to the development of investment strategies that meet the risk appetites of MPI’s trust clients.
Your Impact
- Credit Evaluation & Financial Assessment: You will lead the timely preparation and execution of credit evaluations, determining the financial capability and credit standing of counterparties to align with the trust clients’ risk profiles.
- Investment Planning: In collaboration with the team, you assist in formulating sound investment strategies for MPI Trust by ensuring that counterparties fit within the desired risk appetite.
- Ongoing Credit Monitoring: You are responsible for performing thorough annual reviews and renewals of all counterparty lines, keeping them aligned with the clients’ evolving needs and market conditions.
- Documentation & Compliance: You ensure that all necessary credit and investment documents are accurately prepared and submitted within deadlines, maintaining strict compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Financial Performance Reviews: You regularly review and summarize counterparty financial performance, providing insights into market trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance decision-making.
- Trust Risk Management Compliance: By ensuring the Credit and Investment unit adheres to the Trust Risk Management Framework, you mitigate potential risks and maintain a high standard of operational integrity.
Your Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or additional certifications in Finance, Investment Management, or Trust Operations is an advantage.
- Experience: At least one year of hands-on experience in trust, fiduciary, or investment management activities.
- Training: A minimum of 90 hours of relevant training in trust, fiduciary, or investment management practices, as approved by BSP.
- Certifications: Completion of a recognized global or local certification program related to trust or investment management.
- Specialized Education: Completion of the One-Year Course on Trust Operations and Investment Management (TIFP) is a plus, adding depth to your knowledge and expertise in the field.
