Job Summary: Junior Network Engineer(s) are Catering to Repetitive Task(s) and Monitoring of Network Alert(s). You will also provide Support by Handling Email Follow-Up(s) with the Service Provider (ISP) and Vendor Technical Support Contact(s). Day-to-Day Function(s) of Junior Network Engineer(s) would include Low-Level Task(s), Short-Term Project(s), and Managing Common Network Operations Ticket(s) among others - Allowing Network Engineer(s) to Focus on Network Operations, On-Call Ticket(s), and Large Project(s) in the Pipeline.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assigned to Monitor Network-Stability and Alert(s), Handle
Interaction(s) with Service Provider (ISP) - Email Follow-Up(s)
and Opening of Ticket(s), Coordination w/ assigned Network
Engineer(s) for the needed Information
• Interaction(s) with Vendor - Opening Incident Ticket(s), and
Follow-Up On Open Case(s), Monitor All Vendor Email(s) and
Coordinate w/ assigned Network Engineer(s) for Response(s)
• Layer 1 Network Support and Troubleshooting such as Port
VLAN Move, Bounce of Port, Faulty Ports, Activate - Enabling
Ports, Port Whitelist and Checking On Switch Interface Status
(TX and RX Information, and Setting(s))
• Update Site-Documentation(s), Identify Site(s) with Chronic
Issue(s) and Forward To Network Engineer(s) For Assessment
• Help Create-Update Knowledge-Base Or Documentation(s)
• IP Address Allocation and CDB Netblock - Modify & Create
CDB Entries, Create & Modify Netblocks in CDB, and Reserve
IPDB Netblock; Check Utilization Of Tools in Mastermind and
APG, Circuit Verification via Circuit-Ops, Checking DAI & ARP
Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Field - Or Equivalent Work
Experience/Background in a Similar-Function & Environment
• Good Technical Skills In LAN/WAN Troubleshooting, Knows
Basic Show Commands To Identify the Common-Issue(s) and
Verify Setting(s) - (CISCO and JUNIPER)
• Able To Perform Basic Troubleshooting and Data Gathering
by asking Relevant Question(s), Present Information either in
a Technical or Basic Report, Can Work Independently or With
a Team in completing Task(s)/Project(s)
• Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills - ability to
Express Thoughts Clearly and Articulate Technical Concept(s)
while also Maintaining Positive Relationship(s) (With External
and Internal-Stakeholder(s)), Quick-Learner, and Can Provide
Or Deliver Result(s) within Agreed Timeframe/Deadline (SLA)
