Job Summary:
The Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the movement of goods, raw materials, and finished products across the supply chain, from suppliers to the manufacturing facility and from the facility to customers. This role ensures timely and cost-effective transportation, inventory management, and warehouse operations to meet the company's production and delivery needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily logistics operations, including the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of raw materials, packaging, and finished food ingredients.
- Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of goods to and from suppliers, manufacturing plants, and customers.
- Monitor and optimize the use of logistics resources to meet production and delivery schedules.
- Oversee inventory control for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Coordinate with production teams to maintain optimal stock levels to prevent production delays.
- Implement inventory tracking systems to minimize stockouts or excess inventory.
- Liaise with suppliers, transport providers, and logistics service providers to ensure smooth operations.
- Track and report on vendor performance and compliance with agreed delivery times, costs, and quality standards.
- Ensure that all logistics activities comply with food safety standards, health regulations, and other legal requirements.
- Conduct regular audits of logistics and warehouse operations to ensure adherence to safety guidelines and company policies.
- Supervise and train logistics staff, including warehouse and transportation teams.
- Provide leadership and guidance to improve team performance and ensure productivity and accuracy in logistics functions.
- Monitor logistics costs and strive to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high service standards.
- Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, including key metrics such as delivery times, inventory turnover, and transportation costs.
- Drive improvements in logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce delays.
- Analyze and resolve logistics issues proactively, ensuring minimal impact on production and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation management, ideally in the food manufacturing or food ingredients industry.
- Proven experience in managing warehouse, transportation, and inventory operations.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and supply chain best practices.
