What are we looking for?

We build awesome eCommerce software for Philippine MSMEs and we’re looking for an Accounting Assistant to support our Accounting department in various financial tasks, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and accounting principles.

To achieve this goal, the right person either has the natural born business communication skills or will do whatever it takes to get the best results.

More importantly, we’re looking for someone who:

  • Has keen eyes for detail to ensure accuracy in financial records, calculations, and data entry.
  • Has the tech-savviness and communication skills to build a connection with business owners and help them succeed.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets under the guidance of Accounting Team Lead.
  • Process and record financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, invoices, and expenses.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions and data in the accounting system.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of payroll and employee benefits administration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and support various projects as needed.
  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting department as required.

Related work experience & skills:

  • At least 1 to 2 years experience with Accounting tools (Xero, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Knowledge of Philippine accounting regulations and tax laws is a plus.
