Purpose and Scope
This position will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Business Development/Commercial, to develop and grow Sembcorp’s renewable energy business in the Philippines. The ideal candidate must have the relevant experiences in business development for RE projects (greenfield/brownfield/M&A) including a strong knowledge of Philippines regulatory laws to drive and mitigate project risks.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Generate leads through all channels and build a pipeline to meet targets
- Actively follow up leads, organise site visits, prepare preliminary project assessments and proposals to develop pipeline projects
- Take charge of submission of bids for any tenders (e.g. GEAP)
- Lead and coordinate end-to-end deal execution process including origination, solution design, financial modelling, proposal and commercial structuring, bid preparation, PPA/EPC negotiation and project financing
- Engage and align external/internal cross functional stakeholders to achieve certain outcomes
- Prepare management papers for opportunity assessment, reporting, investment approvals, and joint venture steering committee meetings.
Qualification, Skills and Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in energy/ renewables sector preferably in Business Development/ Commercial related roles
- Good understanding of regulatory framework and electricity market in the Philippines, PPA/RSC with DUs/contestable customers, as well as the risks and value drivers in renewable energy projects
- Demonstrated ability in successfully working with cross-functional teams including technical groups, accounting functions, and project development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
