The Internal Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the company by accurately recording the day-to-day financial transactions. The role includes reconciling accounts, managing invoices, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Internal Bookkeeper plays a crucial part in the financial health of the organization by ensuring accuracy and transparency in all financial matters.
The candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills - effective interaction, resourceful, and able to find solutions independently, anticipating challenges and proactively addressing them, can be trusted to handle information, maintain confidentiality, and consistently deliver quality work.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
- Supports the Director and External Accountants in the performance of their duties
- Accurately and diligently enters all transactions daily/weekly/monthly into Xero
- Following up accounts receivable
- Uploads supporting evidence for all transactions entered
- Performs bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
- Preparation of payroll
- Data Entry into Fergus (Job Management System)
- Job Management including job creation, scheduling and invoicing
- Following up and coordinating with plumbers to ensure accurate notes and job completion
- Review timesheets of all plumbers to ensure accuracy
- Contract and SWMS Preparation for commercial project
- Draft quotes and follow up pricing for suppliers
- Manage vehicle maintenance including servicing, registration, insurances and registers
- Supports the Director with Administrative tasks including but not limited to email and calendar management, word document, presentations etc.
SKILLS:
- Intermediate Word and Excel skills;
- High attention to detail;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Xero and Xero Payroll Certified;
- Experience with Fergus or Job Management Software highly regarded
- At least 3 + years’ experience in Bookkeeping or accounting;
