Position Overview:

Were looking for a skilled Video Editor with a strong foundation in editing fundamentals and excels in using logic, common sense, and English comprehension to create clean, engaging cuts and simple yet effective edits. This role focuses on video editing for educational YouTube videos and involves working with visuals and sound design to enhance the learning experience for viewers, and also where spotting and cutting unnecessary fluff and repetition is essential to maintaining viewer engagement and content clarity. Fancy transitions and dynamic visuals arent necessary for this role, but a keen eye for structure, pacing, and sound is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Edit YouTube videos, primarily for educational purposes, ensuring smooth pacing and clarity.
  • Apply basic sound design techniques to improve viewer engagement.
  • Implement visuals, b-roll, and other basic elements to enhance storytelling and information retention.
  • Edit projects efficiently and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with our production team of editor managers / quality assurers to make sure the edited content meets standards.


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of video editing experience, preferably with educational or informational YouTube content.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or similar editing software.
  • Strong understanding of pacing, cuts, and basic sound design.
  • Ability to make independent editing choices that preserve content clarity.
  • Excellent grasp of English and the ability to recognize unnecessary content for removal.


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Interest and knowledge in business and educational content.
  • Familiarity with the business-focused subject matter for more intuitive editing decisions.
